WFO True Street Challenge Rules 2009
This class is designed for REAL street cars – capable of street legal driving. All entrants will have to meet the class rules to participate, beyond that; it's open to everyone! WFO official will interpret and enforce the rules. Final decisions cannot be protested. Any Post Tech Inspection modification (removal of mufflers, etc) will disqualify the car and driver WFO Official decisions are final and cannot be protested. All vehicles must conform to these guidelines: State of Texas Street legal - which includes VALID CURRENT Proof of Liability Insurance Card - Faxes or letters from insurance companies are not permitted VALID CURRENT license plates are mandatory; no dealer plates or registrations VALID CURRENT state inspection All paperwork must be presented at time of registration for the event All cars must have DOT-approved tires. Weld, Bogart, Centerline wheels ARE Permitted. Drag Radials permitted if the tire is a DOT stamped tire Any tire without DOT stamp is not permitted –SLICKS are NOT ALLOWED All DOT-mandated safety equipment for the particular model year must be operational, including: All cars will be checked for proper operation of equipment. Headlights, Taillights and Brake lights Turn signals Horn Windshield wipers A closed exhaust with mufflers is required. All exhaust fumes must exit the outlet of the muffler (cutouts must be closed). Turndowns are permitted. Any type of induction system is allowed. Any form of power adder is allowed - Twin power adders are permitted. No minimum race weight is required. Any style front suspension is permitted Any rear suspension is allowed, including tubs and mini-tubs. An entry must start, operate, and drive under its own power with one driver in the car. All drivers must have the following: 1. A current, valid driver's license. 2. A drag race entry purchased at the gate. 3. A WFO True Street Challenge entry fee ($20 per event) 4. A tech card for track tech. Track tech may follow WFO True Street tech, but will be performed regardless. Competition: Each registered vehicle will be allowed 4 official passes per event Each competitor must complete the passes by 11 PM or forfeit the additional runs One shake down pass (not scored) Three Official times passes - The two best times will be AVERAGED. Disqualified or Red Light passes are not scored Each competitor must have 2 scored runs (at 2 of the 3 events) to compete for the overall title. The events will be contested 1/4 mile format Sportsman Tree Starting line red light disqualifies time Any center line crossing disqualifies time In the event of break or disqualified times (red light or centerline cross) a baseline time of 15 seconds will used to average with the one clean run. This ONLY applies to competitors not recording 2 official clean time runs at the event. WFO will collect a entry fee $20 per vehicle entered in each event. There is no refund. All proceeds (less expenses) will be added to the prize the fund. Event Dates June 26th - EIRT - (event was cancelled) July 24th - SAR September 25th (proposed date) - SAR Any rainout dates will be rescheduled and announced with at least a week (6 day) notice Cars may be trailered, driven, dragged, carried or flown in - We don"t care....as long as ALL the above rules are met!
